I decided I needed to play today so I brought out the pallet knife. I think its so interesting how things "just happen" with this technique. Its takes a lot of practice to get it just right though. I had fun with it and ended up pretty happy with it.

Self-Portrait I

When Allison told us we all neede to paint a self-portrait for the Artist Collective website, we all cringed. Its a little like doing therapy...on yourself. What an interesting challenge. I ended up doing two. This is the first one which I think looks really"professional." That makes sense because I painted it from a "professional" photgraph that I have on my therapy website. The second one is very different.

Self-Portrait II

This one is very different dont you think? Its much more relaxed and playful. Maybe this is the "artist me" and the other one is the "therapist me". Of course they are both me! Hummm...maybe I should work on integrating the two in both art and therapy...and in life! Or maybe it is just really late and I need to go to sleep.
