The Sullivan's Island Plein Air Painters

These are some of my favorite painters as well as friends. Inspired by the healing forces of art, nature, playfulness and laughter, the Sullivan's Island Plein Aire Painters began painting together to capture the lusty beauty of the lowcountry. Collectively, we support the creative process while encouraging each other's own unique and individual expression through painting. We choose to paint almost exclusively outdoors in order to capture the effects of light and atmosphere through color, a practice which demonstrates a commitment to the plein-air process. Through the years we have formed an enduring friendship while braving heat, mosquitos, and even snakes!
